Abstract
Bulk compression creep of molten polymers has received almost no attention to-date (1) because of the commonly accepted notions that no volume changes of importance take place in polymers during actual practice, and the inherent practical difficulties related to the precise measurement of volume deformations. For this purpose an Instron Capillary Rheometer with a steel plug instead of the capillary has been used (Figure 1-a). Actual data look as these shown in Figure 1-b.
