Biological Separations Using Latex-Based Pellicular Resins

Abstract

Traditional macroporous resins contain their ion exchange sites within large pores. These deep pores impede mass transfer of molecules between the resin and the mobile phase. The result is broader peaks, poor resolution and lower recovery. In addition large molecules can be excluded or trapped by the pores, limiting the ability to separate large protein and DNA Fragments.
