Abstract
As mentioned in the previous chapter, the majority of kidneys transplanted are obtained from a person who has recently died. Since it is neither practicable nor legal for one doctor to be responsible for the care of a dying patient together with undertaking the organization of removal and transplantation of the kidneys, co-ordinators have been appointed to help this delicate, urgent and important work.
