Abstract

The study presents the mathematical model of particle sedimentation referred to the lipoprotein deposition in atherosclerotic disease. The theory enables us to determine the expected value of population of particles deposited on the wall of an artery at each time i.e. to predict the development of disease in future. Certain aspects of atherosclerosis, e. g. its regresion and progression periods are theoretically explained by means of fluctuations.
