Precocious Puberty: Pathophysiology and Treatment

Abstract

Pubertal maturation can be defined as the reactivation or disinhibition of a suppressed hypothalamic GnRH pulse generator system. Increased amplitude of pulsatile GnRH release and increased stimulation of pituitary gonadotropes, particularly at night, results in gonadal maturation and secretion [1–3].
