Unified Treatment of Satellite Motion in Various Potential Fields

Abstract

A general method for obtaining the perturbed elements of a satellite, moving in various forms of axi-symmetric potentials, is presented in this investigation. The first section contains various examples of axi-symmetric potentials. This section is followed by the explicit expressions for the disturbing accelerations. The procedure applied, in order to obtain the elements of the orbit, is outlined in the final part of this paper.
