Abstract

The objective in this chapter is to give a general outline of numerical algorithms for solving nonlinear equations typical of structural mechanics discretized formulations discussed in Chapter 3 (Sees. 3.4-3.6) and Chapter 4. The algorithms to be reviewed are believed to belong to those most commonly used in modern computer programs in the field of structural mechanics applications.
