Arrhenius Parameters for the Gas-Phase Reaction of Ozone with a Series of 1-Alkenes over the Temperature Range 240–324k

  • Chapter
Physico-Chemical Behaviour of Atmospheric Pollutants

Summary

Rate constants for the gas-phase reaction of ozone with ethene, propene, 1-butene, 1-pentene and 1-hexene have been determined at 298 ± 1K and 1 atm total pressure using two different experimental procedures. The rate constants obtained were (in units of 10-18 cm3 molecule-1 s-1): ethene, 1.37 ± 0.04; propene 9.71 ± 0.43; 1-butene, 9.57 ± 0.52; 1-pentene, 9.20±0.53; 1-hexene, 10.2 ±0.4.
