Summary
The different plans of exploitation of meteorological radar systems in Italy, as well as future development of networking are reported in this paper. The use of radar data in support to economical sectors at regional and national levels is also outlined. A picture comes out in which radar meteorology is going to assume an increasing importance for assistance to aviation, crop protection and planning, water resources management and general weather forecasting. Firm proposal for inclusion of different radars into COST 73 network is a guideline to present and future actions.
