Radio and Optical Observations of the Nuclei of Sbc Galaxies
A sample of 100 Sbc galaxies is being observed at different wavelengths and with high resolution, in order to obtain information about the physical process happening in their nuclei. We present here the comparison between the optical spectroscopy observations, the HI observations and the VLA radio observations. The maximum velocity in our rotation curves is better indicated by the width of the HI profile at 50 percent of the profile peak. We found a weak anticorrelation between the inner slope of the rotation curve, indicative of the inner mass of the galaxy, with the nuclear radio power for extended sources. Only a weak correlation of this inner slope with the total mass of the galaxy is found.
