Abstract

H2 and HI masses are compared with the optical luminosities, IR luminosities, color temperatures, and dust masses for more than 200 galaxies whose molecular content have been measured as part of the FCRAO Extragalactic CO Survey. The observations indicate the range of star formation efficiencies (SFEs) and H2/HI ratios observed as a function of galaxy type, luminosity, and environment. For a subset of these galaxies in which the distributions of ionized, atomic, and molecular gas are known, radial variations in the SFE are investigated.
