Abstract
By spectral identification and kinetic characterization of three types of absorption changes in the spectral region between 390 and 450 nm, namely those of cytochrome-b6, cytochrome-f and P-700, we give evidence for the concept of the Q-cycle as proposed by Mitchell [1] and get insight into the mechanism of the control of it. With this respect we resume our work on absorption changes of cytochrome-b6 we put forward more than 20 years ago [2, 3]. The results presented here at the same time imply a profound theoretical basis for the understanding of the experimental results on the variability of the H/e ratio in [4].
