Regions, Zones, Boundaries

Part of the The GeoJournal Library book series (GEJL, volume 16)

Regional geography is a very difficult discipline. It has no ‘instant’experts [Hart, 1982]. On the contrary, regional geography requires ‘sensitive interpretation of the values that motivate the behavior of the people, which is a lifetime pursuit’ [Hart, supra cit.]. Good regional geography must be grounded in keen sensitivity to the needs, wishes and values of the people who live in the region.
