Abstract
The objectives, processes and potential for development of maintenance programmes applied civil aircraft structures will be discussed.
In the area of engine condition monitoring, mention is made of the various techniques used in airlines to monitor engines while operating in service, and the methods employed to inspect them internally without disassembly.
From the avionics point of view, the experience with built in test equipment is discussed, together with the future prospects for improving its performance. Finally, the area of flight data recording and telemetry is referred to.
