Résumé
Créé en 1960, l’herbier de Dakar renferme environ 8000 accessions. Comme pour d’autres herbiers d’Afrique, ses activités ont été fortement limitées pendant cette derniére décennie au point que certains spécimens soient attaqués par les insectes et que la structure se retrouve dans un état d’isolement notoire. Grâce à l’appui d’un projet de coopération avec l’Université de Aarhus (Danemark), cet herbier est en voie de réfection. Les principales innovations depuis un an ont porté sur la formation, les infrastructures et équipements et l’introduction de nouveaux spécimens.
Abstract
The DAKAR Herbarium created in 1960 holds approximately 8000 plant specimens. Like many other African herbaria, activities have been greatly limited during the last decade due to lack of funding which again has lead to scientific isolation. As part of a collaboration with the University of Aarhus (Denmark) the herbarium is now being renovated and it will soon be fully operative. The main innovations during the last year included training of researchers, implementation of infrastructure and equipment, and addition of new specimens.
