Abstract

Ground-water contamination is now considered as one of the most important ecological problems which may greatly determine the general environmental features of large regions, the drinking water supply conditions in many countries, the possibility for safe storage of hazardous waste and so on. The overall cost of appropriate ground-water protection and remediation measures are estimated to be in many billions of dollars.
