Concept of Biological Model
One consideration for this volume is to provide researchers with a sourcelist of biological models as a part of the experimental design. “An animal model of a disease is only as useful as the questions we ask of it.” (Reid, 1980). The selection of proper biological models is a prerequisite particularly for investigations of the pathogenesis and treatment of disease (Kawamata and Matsushita, 1987; Davidson et al., 1987).
