Abstract
Magnesium is essential for maintaining ATPase reaction which is responsible for hydrolyzing ATP to ADP. Under normal conditions the intracellular magnesium ion concentration is 8 times higher than the extracellular concentration [1]. Ouabain, a specific pump inhibitor, is known to inhibits the ATPase activity. The purpose of this study was to observe the effect of ouabain on magnesium behavior in the mouse myocardium.
