Abstract

That we are in an evolving Cosmo where each single object, and the Universe as a whole, evolve in time has been accepted since a long time. The great excitement in current cosmology, as mentioned also by J. Peebles sometime before 1983, is that we have opened an observational and theoretical window in the world of mathematical models and we are now looking in them, confronting them with the observations with the feeling that the prospects are excellent to understand some of the details of the grand design of Nature. A variety of unforeseen facts are being, and expect to be, discovered. The advent of advanced detector technology, fast computer facilities and large telescopes are making all of this possible.
