Abstract

This paper takes the construction of a virtual digital library in DUT library for example, emphatically analyzes the system design ideas, structural basis and building measures of virtualization architecture by VMware vSphere four, and gives a detailed proposal of the hardware configuration and the business cluster deployment. Then, this paper describes in detail the significant effect acquired by the specific applications of virtualization in the digital library. Virtualization provides effective approaches to building the digital libraries with high efficiency and stability, sustainable development and green environmental protection. Finally, this paper also introduces the problems which would occur and should be taken into account in the process of virtualization construction and operations.
