Would the Organizational Commitment and Occupational Burnout Perceptions of Firm Owner’s with 10–49 Employees Be High at the Same Time? Why Not? (Example of Ankara)

Abstract

This study is done to fulfill the aim of revealing the relationship between the perceptions of owner of the firms from four different sectors about “organizational commitment” and “occupational burnout” in a world of chaos and complexity. Population of the study is 407 firms take place in Ankara; 45 of them are chosen as sample and 135 of owner is participated to the research. 125 of them supplied data. Data collected by “Maslach Burnout Inventory” and Mayer and Allen’s “Organizational Commitment Questionnaire” from the owners of the firms. In conclusion, both “organizational commitment” and “occupational burnout” are perceived in a “high” level by the owners. And there is a relationship in 0.75 level between the perceptions about “organizational commitment” and “occupational burnout”. This unique finding according to the literature reminds the readers that: firm owners would be living burnout because they are committed to the firm and this situation can be the sign of a decreasing commitment soon.
