Abstract
This chapter begins the second part of the book in which a range of Rasch techniques are presented that make use of topics presented in the preceding 11 chapters. When a Rasch analysis is run, a person having the same measure as an item (dichotomous item) has a 50/50 chance of correctly answering the item. In some cases it is preferable to be more certain. Thus, one may wish that a person with the same measure as an item has a 65 % chance of correctly answering the item. In this chapter we present the steps one has to take in terms of thinking and conducting a Rasch analysis in which the probability of success is altered from a default value of 50/50 to another value. The chapter finishes up with Keywords and Phrases, Quick Tips, Data Files, References, and Additional Readings. As in almost all chapters, sample analyses are used to reinforce the chapter topic.
