Abstract
Cities are conceived as landscapes, communities as parks and buildings as gardens, with water coursing through every scale of planning and design. Three projects illustrate this approach: A reconstruction plan for New Orleans, the Anacostia River Waterfront Initiative in Washington, D.C., and the Tom Ridge Environmental Center in Erie, Pennsylvania.
