Abstract

The chapter introduces to Boolean Algebra. First the three Boolean operators that are used today are concerned (i.e. AND, OR, NOT). Then the laws of Boolean logic are defined axiomatically using axioms together with theorems, which are presented here in the form of certain equations. The chapter introduces also to the disjunctive normal form (DNF) and to conjunctive normal form (CNF), which allow for the standardization (or normalization) of logical formulas.
