Strengthening Development Politics and Global Partnership

  • Chapter
  • First Online:

Abstract

Climate politics has to pay special attention to development politics but development processes have their own agenda and must not be subsumed by climate issues. Nevertheless, there are many common problems and concerns, especially with regard to a global institutional framework for co-operation. Climate politics can learn a lot from the experiences in development politics. This is true especially regarding mechanisms and rules for a transparent and effective allocation of funds provided in a Global Deal. But all efforts will fail if co-operation is not based on a realistic partnership with transparent rules.
