Abstract

We shall report a theoretical study of transient nonlinear transmission and reflection of ultrashort laser pulses by a thin semiconductor film (TSF) under the conditions of resonant two-photon excitation of biexcitons from the ground state. Since typical times of interaction between optical pulses and media are determined by oscillator strength of specific optical transitions, it is feasible that two-photon excitation of biexcitons from the ground state may facilitate our understanding of transient nonlinear transmission of ultrashort pulses through the TSF.
