Abstract

This short chapter introduces the main theme of the book: the importance of respecting the sincere subjective moral judgments of individuals on matters that directly affect their person, even if these judgments can be shown to be fundamentally flawed. It presents the contexts in which this topic will be analysed: coercion and (non-)domination, and provides an overview of the structure of the book.
