International Marine Environmental Law (Oil Pollution)

  • Kathryn Barras

This paper gives a broad overview of international marine environmental law, focussing on oil pollution, and is presented as part of a co-operative approach to the problems we face in preventing degradation of our precious marine environment. Oceans by their nature are difficult to legislate for, and this paper demonstrates how the international community has sought to regulate marine pollution, particularly oil pollution, in the context of significant marine disasters.
