Entropy of Composition: Optimization Criterion

It has been assumed that entropy characterizes dynamic systems only. It turned out that such a stationary system as a solid phase can be also characterized by composition entropy. It reflects the uncertainty of granulometry based on a probabilistic characteristic. Composition entropy, in contrast to thermodynamic entropy, has a tendency to a decrease in critical regimes of motion. Ordering of compositions because of fine and coarse particles distribution into different directions gives grounds for unbiased unambiguous optimization of separation process by entropy decrease value. Optimality conditions are determined.
