In this chapter, the numerical tests of our shell FEs are described. The tests ensure correctness of the formulation and verify its quality by com- paring the accuracy and robustness with other elements. Good tests stimulate progress in FE technology, although sometimes are found accidentally as, e.g., the Raasch hook test of Sect. 15.2.10. Popular benchmark problems for shell elements are provided in [143, 233, 51]. The number of tests which are in use for verification of elements is large; only a selection of them can be presented here.
