Samenvatting

Dit hoofdstuk bespreekt de gestructureerde medische work-up bij een vermoeden van kindermishandeling. De onderdelen van de anamnese, het lichamelijk onderzoek inclusief het vastleggen van de groei en het top-teenonderzoek worden besproken. Het belang van zorgvuldige vastlegging van bevindingen in het dossier wordt onderstreept. Het hoofdstuk eindigt met de (internationale) aanbevelingen voor aanvullend radiologisch onderzoek bij een vermoeden van lichamelijke mishandeling zowel voor kinderen bij wie een vermoeden speelt als voor contactkinderen uit dezelfde leefomgeving.
