Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk over zorg voor het gezin gaat het over de niet geringe impact van het opgroeien van een kind met autisme op ouders en broertjes en zusjes. Uit onderzoek blijkt dat ouders van kinderen met autisme veelal kampen met stress, angst en depressieve klachten. Er zijn verschillende factoren van invloed op deze psychische problemen. In dit hoofdstuk bespreken we deze factoren en kijken we wat er nodig is om ouders en broers/zussen te ondersteunen om de kans op psychische klachten te verlagen en de kwaliteit van leven te vergroten.
