Samenvatting

Een klassieke maar nog altijd actuele controverse in de geneeskunde is ‘kunst versus kunde’. Kunst staat daarbij voor het individuele, unieke en subjectieve, terwijl kunde vooral naar het universele, algemene en objectieve verwijst. Deze controverse raakt alle drie de pijlers onder de moderne geneeskunde: het biomedische wetenschapsmodel, het geneeskundig proces en de geoliede machine. Design thinking is een alternatieve methodiek die een vorm van chaordisch organiseren aanreikt, waardoor ook voor de dokter een scala aan mogelijkheden zal ontstaan.
