Samenvatting
In dit hoofdstuk worden verschillende psychologische instrumenten besproken waarmee allerlei aspecten van complexe problematiek kunnen worden vastgesteld. Benadrukt wordt dat voor het vaststellen van een persoonlijkheidsstoornis meerdere diagnostische instrumenten ingezet moeten worden. Achtereenvolgens worden de volgende diagnostische instrumenten besproken: een drietal semigestructureerde interviews, een tiental zelfrapportagevragenlijsten en een aantal projectieve en narratieve tests. Tot slot wordt vastgesteld dat diagnostische instrumenten een belangrijk hulpmiddel zijn om, naast de klinische blik, hypotheses over de problematiek van de cliënt op te stellen.
