Inleiding

COPD staat voor chronic obstructive pulmonary disease ofwel chronische obstructieve longziekte. Hierbij is er sprake van een luchtwegobstructie als gevolg van abnormale ontstekingsreacties na blootstelling van de long aan min of meer toxische stoffen zoals sigarettenrook.
