Decubitus

Inleiding

Dat druk en schuifkrachten op de huid inwerken, is bij gezonde mensen over het algemeen geen probleem. Maar bij mensen die geheel of gedeeltelijk bedlegerig zijn of in een rolstoel zitten, kunnen deze krachten degeneratieve veranderingen van de huid en het onderliggend weefsel veroorzaken. Er kunnen lelijke wonden onstaan die slecht genezen. Dit wordt decubitus genoemd.
