Samenvatting
Het is niet onwaarschijnlijk dat er een zekere mate van roloverlap bestaat tussen fysiotherapie en ergotherapie in de revalidatie van patiënten met een cerebrovasculaire aandoening, gezien de gemeenschappelijke doelstellingen van beide disciplines. Kwalitatief onderzoek waarbij de meningen van therapeuten in kaart werden gebracht, liet zien dat de meeste therapeuten een zekere mate van overlap ondervonden tijdens de uitvoering van hun beroep. Uit een recent Europees onderzoek bleek echter dat er toch voldoende verscheidenheid is om fysiotherapie en ergotherapie als verschillende beroepen te beschouwen, met een duidelijke roldemarcatie. Het vervangen van fysiotherapie en ergotherapie door één algemene bewegingstherapie lijkt dus niet aangewezen te zijn.
