Samenvatting
Stabiele angina pectoris is het gevolg van obstructies in de coronairarteriën die aanleiding geven tot klachten, die voor de individuele patiënt meestal onder vergelijkbare omstandigheden optreden en doorgaans volgens een vast patroon verlopen. Al in 1772 beschreef William Heberden de klassieke verschijnselen van angina pectoris (AP) als een zelfstandig ziektebeeld, overigens zonder daarbij de relatie met obstructies in het coronaire vaatsysteem te vermelden.
