Samenvatting
Bij een patiënt met een solitaire schildkliernodus is de diagnostiek gericht op het uitsluiten van een maligne aandoening. De kans op een maligniteit bij schildkliernodi wordt gerapporteerd op 5-6%. Deze kans is groter wanneer de nodus zich bij een kind of jong-volwassene voordoet, bij patiënten > 60 jaar of bij halsbestraling in de voorgeschiedenis. De kans is kleiner bij een multinodulair struma of bij (subklinische) hyperthyreoïdie.
