Partydrugs en problematisch alcoholgebruik

Abastract

Om het uitgaansleven wat te bevorderen, zijn voor sommige jeugdigen verschillende middelen van belang. Op ongeveer 14-jarige leeftijd begint het met de consumptie van alcohol en tabak. Gemiddeld een jaar later wordt er kennisgemaakt met marihuana. Met ecstasy wordt gemiddeld voor het eerst begonnen op 17-jarige leeftijd en op ongeveer 18-jarige leeftijd komen naast ecstasy cocaïne, speed, LSD en paddenstoelen in beeld. Het eerste partydrugsgebruik geschiedt meestal uit nieuwsgierigheid. Het percentage XTC-gebrui-kers is het grootst onder 21- tot 24-jarigen. Het grootste deel van deze groep heeft een vriendenkring waarin bijna iedereen party drugs gebruikt. Mannen zijn vaker drugsgebruiker dan vrouwen, ook al worden de verschillen steeds kleiner. Overwegend blanke, mannelijke jongvolwassenen met verschillende sociale achtergronden zijn in deze groep te vinden.
