Samenvatting
Het meten van beweeglijkheid is een belangrijk onderdeel van het fysiotherapeutisch onderzoek en de behandeling. In dit hoofdstuk worden verschillende vormen van meten van gewrichtsbeweeglijkheid besproken, met de knie als voorbeeld. Achtereenvolgens komen meten met het timmermansoog, een universele goniometer, een parallellogramgoniometer en een inclinometer aan bod. Behalve op enkele algemene regels en randvoorwaarden wordt er ingegaan op de klinimetrische eigenschappen van de verschillende instrumenten. De belangrijkste doelstelling is de lezers inzicht te geven in de mogelijkheden en beperkingen van de beschikbare meetinstrumenten. Hoewel het meten van bewegingsuitslagen belangrijk is voor een clinicus, dienen bewegingsuitslagen met de nodige voorzichtigheid te worden bekeken. Verschillen van enkele graden tussen twee beoordelaars ofbeoordelingen mogen niet altijd toegeschreven worden aan veranderingen in de gezondheidstoestand van de patiënt, maar komen mogelijk voort uit de beperkte reproduceerbaarheid van de metingen.
