Biomechanische preparatie van geïnfecteerde wortelkanalen

Abstract

Bacteriële infectie van de pulpaholte veroorzaakt meestal uiteindelijk ook een ontsteking van de periradiculaire omgeving. Bij een geïnfecteerde pulparuimte is daarom een wortelkanaalbehandeling geïndiceerd. De wortelkanaalbehandeling moet leiden tot een volledig gereinigde pulparuimte die hermetisch wordt afgesloten. Dat is de basis voor een duurzame restauratie van het desbetreffende gebitselement
