13 Stoornissen in de aandacht en impulsregulatie

Samenvatting

Overbeweeglijkheid, concentratieproblemen en impulsiviteit komen veel voor bij kleuters en schoolgaande kinderen. Ze horen tot op zekere hoogte bij de kindertijd en zijn uitingen van een normale ontwikkeling. Ook adolescenten en volwassenen laten deze gedragingen zien, maar in mindere mate. Doen deze gedragingen zich in extreme mate voor, zijn ze niet langer leeftijdsadequaat, én verstoren ze het dagelijkse leven van de kinderen en jongeren, dan beschouwt men ze als symptoom van het klinisch syndroom aandachtstekortstoornis met hyperactiviteit (ADHD; APA, 2000).
