Keelpijn

Keelpijn is een veelvoorkomende klacht, die meestal kortdurend is. We spreken dan van acute keelpijn (< 14 dagen), waarbij veelal een ontsteking de oorzaak is. Duurt de klacht langer dan veertien dagen, dan spreken we van chronische keelpijn. Hierover zijn minder wetenschappelijke gegevens uit de eerstelijns gezondheidszorg beschikbaar.
