Het elektrocardiogram (ECG is de grafische weergave van de elektrische activiteit van het hart. Door het plaatsen van diverse elektroden op armen, benen en borst kan deze elektrische activiteit met een elektrocardiograaf vanuit 12 verschillende ‘richtingen’ (12-afieidingen-ECG) worden geregistreerd.
