Samenvatting

Een consult van een zuigeling met constitutioneel eczeem roept vaak een dilemma op bij de dokter: symptomatisch behandelen met corticosteroïden of benaderen als een allergisch probleem. Dat dilemma wordt in het leven geroepen deels door vragen van de ouders van het kind, deels door onzekerheid van de dokter over de precieze feiten. Ouders leggen regelmatig een verband tussen het eczeem en een mogelijke allergie als oorzaak.
