Questa storia inizia da molto lontano. In un tempo in cui l’uomo viveva circondato da una natura indomita, e dove ogni giorno era l’inizio di una nuova lotta per la sopravvivenza. Come gli animali che lo circondavano, egli era costretto a procacciarsi il cibo ogni giorno, a rintanarsi in ripari naturali, e ad affrontare passivamente le intemperie. Aveva pochi strumenti, che egli stesso era riuscito a inventare, e che lentamente gli avevano concesso quel margine di vantaggio che il suo fisico non poteva garantire nei confronti di ben più temibili predatori.
