Abstract

In its general form, the external fixation device used for the treatment of large joints pathology consists of (1) a transosseous module fixing the proximal joint segment; (2) a transosseous module fixing the distal joint segment; and (3) a hinge subsystem connecting the transosseous modules. The assembly of each component of the device has its own specific features.
