Riassunto
Gli esiti disabilitanti dei Traumi Cranio-Encefalici (TCE) moderati o lievi rappresentano un problema di notevole rilevanza sanitaria e sociale nelle società moderne. Va considerata l’elevata incidenza e prevalenza, specialmente tra adulti e giovani in piena età scolastica o lavorativa. Inoltre, la numerosità e complessità delle conseguenze di tipo senso-motorio, comportamentale e cognitivo, sono spesso disabilitanti nella vita quotidiana. Importanti sono anche le ripercussioni emotive e materiali che vanno a gravare sul sistema famigliare della persona colpita. Le conseguenze sociali, in termini di difficoltà di reinserimento famigliare, scolastico o lavorativo, richiedono la necessità di un elevato impegno di risorse, in ambito sociale e sanitario, con interventi complessi e prolungati nel tempo, che spesso devono essere modulati e diversificati in funzione degli specifici bisogni della persona cerebrolesa e del suo nucleo famigliare. Quest’ultimo aspetto, soprattutto, costituisce un compito estremamente impegnativo sul piano tecnico-professionale, organizzativo e relazionale.
