Riassunto

Tra tutti i trapianti di organo solido, il trapianto di intestino (TI), nelle sue diverse forme, è indubbiamente quello sul quale l’esperienza disponibile è minore e i cui i risultati sono attualmente i meno brillanti. Il registro mondiale dei trapianti intestinali riportava al maggio 2009 un totale di 1236 trapianti pediatrici eseguiti su 1151 pazienti presso 53 centri in tutto il mondo, con una sopravvivenza attuariale del 70% a un anno e del 50% a 5 anni [1].
